September Happenings

With the weather finally cooling down,  we’ve compiled a list of where you can  go to get out and enjoy Fall, my  favorite season in Charlotte:

For the past 47 years, Festival in the Park has offered something for everyone at this autumnal event at Freedom Park, everything from arts and crafts, food, live music and performances.

At the Yiasou Greek Festival, you can tour their beautiful cathedral, enjoy freshly prepared authentic Greek food, everything from gyros to baklava, watch traditional dances, and try your luck in the raffle to win a trip to Greece. Rides and face painting available for the little ones to enjoy.

Year after year, people of all walks of life enjoy the 50 nations represented at UNCC’s International Festival, featuring music, food, costumes, and games. And you don’t need a passport!

Time Warner Cable BBQ&Blues  offers more than just good food and great music. You can cheer on your favorite squealer in a pig race, take a Segway tour, or participate in a 5K.

If BBQ isn’t your thing, may I suggest the Carolina Wing Festival, where you can sample the bounty from over 20 participating restaurants? Wing eating contests, music and more!

Just for the ladies: The Southern Women’s Show  boasts shopping, fashion shows, cooking demonstrations, and celebrity appearances. Also check out Fashion’s Night Out and Charlotte Fashion Week.

Have any other ideas for how to enjoy the month of September? Please feel free to comment with suggestions!
