What can the SBA do for you?

Are you looking to start your own small business?  Do you currently own a small business, but have questions about how the government can help you or how to comply with new federal regulations?  Are you a new lawyer looking to expand your law office and need resources on how to get started with your business plan?  If you answered yes to any of those questions, there is a great free resource just for you — the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) online.

The SBA has been an independent advocate “voice for small business within the federal government and is the watchdog for the Regulatory Flexibility Act (RFA).”  The SBA advocates for  ”the views and concerns of small business before Congress, the White House, the federal agencies, the federal courts and state policy makers.”  Some of the resources they make available to the public are:

The programs that the SBA offer are truly the heart of the agency.  These programs attempt to support the diverse needs of small business owners. For example, the SBA provides “programs related to technical, financial, contracting, education and disaster assistance, as well as special interests, advocacy and civil rights compliance.” Here are a couple links to more information provided by the SBA:
