Attorney Pamela Blume-Leonard, Former Executive Director of the Council for Restorative Justice
presenting:
“ADVOCACY VS. AFTERMATH: THE UNSEEN CONSEQUENCES OF VIOLENT CRIME”
Attorney Pamela Blume-Leonard has practiced in legal settings for many years as a Specialist in Death Penalty Mitigation and in Defense-Initiated Victim Outreach on cases at the trial level and post-conviction level, and in federal court as well as state court. Ms. Leonard served as the first Deputy Director of Mitigation and Investigation at the Georgia Capital Defender Office until she stepped down from this position in late 2005 to return to private practice in defense-initiated victim outreach, and specifically to provide victim outreach in the case U.S. v. Zacarious Moussaoui. Ms. Leonard has authored articles on the development and presentation of evidence in capital cases, and provided advanced investigative services and training and consultation to attorneys throughout the U.S. She has been qualified as an expert to testify in matters of mitigation, investigation, and defense-initiated victim outreach in death penalty cases. In addition, she has been trained in mediation and conflict transformation.
